We worked on shading techniques for the majority of the class.

27th CLASS - LANDSCAPE ARTIST LES II
Today:
1) We went outside and you finished your landscape of the back of the school.
2) Time shifted and we became artists of 2050. Your second part of the assignment is to use the same techniques you started with to create a landscape of the same area for how you see it in 2050.... yep.
Next class we'll do some technique activities to help you all out :)

Today:
Many of you were gone so you were given a bit more time to finish up your slides.
Next you:
-Wrote an explanation of your images and how you would transition from one slide to the next
-Started writing the people and things you would need to make it a real music video (actors/actresses, lighting, technology, materials, etc.)
Work on those things and bring the lyrics (words) of your song next class.

5TH CLASS - SURREALISM LES IV
Today:
1) We reviewed your prior knowledge about surrealism based on the previous tasks:
a - artistic elements, features of surprise, being illogical, and open to various interpretations,
b - how surrealism can be found in nature, and
c - using surrealism to send several messages at the same time to your viewer/audience.
2) Using all of that knowledge, you picked a theme. You completed an assignment building on your knowledge focusing on your chosen theme. It was handed in at the end of class.

3) You worked on and handed in an assignment using Surrealism to communicate more than one message that can be interpreted in many ways by your audience.

If you missed class: Remediation to collect assignments and present your Surrealism in nature to me is tomorrow (Thursday) at noon in the 216 computer lab. I also need to give you the next assignment that was completed today and need it BEFORE next class.

1ST CLASS - COURSE INTRODUCTION
Today we: Went over what we will be doing in the course. You started your first guided activity.
If you missed class: Think about your favorite experience this summer. Where were you? Who was there? What was going on? How? When did it take place? Close your eyes and picture it in your mind. Next, using a pencil focusing on lines, shades and shapes, take 10 minutes to illustrate it. It is due at the beginning of next class.
Next class September 15 (Day 10): I trust you will have your course outlines signed and your materials labelled in your box when I check at the beginning of class. You have over a week to do this. If you are having challenges getting what you need, see me this week.
